Ever wished you could just permanently apply the smooth camera filter over your cellulite? You know, just level out that cottage cheese consistency like it never existed? You’re not alone, 90% of women struggle with cellulite and in a world where our whole lives are captured, filmed and posted it gets harder to hide or ignore the jiggle that makes you want to, well you know, wish it was winter all year long.
At Nix & Tee Wellness and Aesthetics we know how cellulite can sabotage your personal goals and self-esteem. Addressing cellulite is about more than looking good in a swimsuit, it’s about feeling good in your own skin. Nix & Tee offer clients a holistic treatment plan that not only addresses cellulite, but also the various factors that contribute to the appearance of it. But before we treat it, let’s take a closer look at what causes cellulite:
What is cellulite and why are women more prone to getting it?
Yes, cellulite to an extent is fat but it’s also more complicated than just that, which is why it can be difficult to treat. The pockets of fat press against the connective tissue of the skin to create an uneven appearance, but that’s only half the problem. The other part of this equation is the structure and strength of the skin. A woman’s connective tissue runs vertically making it easier for the fat to create an uneven texture, whereas a man’s connective tissue runs crisscross and offers more stable resistance to the pressure of the fat.
Cellulite normally appears after the age of 25 as the body’s ability to produce healthy and strong connective tissue starts to decline. Add to this hormones, lifestyle, diet and genetics and the possibility of a woman getting it somewhere along the way, just increases.
What can we do to treat cellulite?
Though the cellulite is unavoidable, the good news is that it’s treatable. At Nix & Tee we thoroughly evaluate our clients to better understand their lifestyle, identify the areas of concern and the results that they wish to attain.
We use a non-invasive treatment in combination with lymph drainage to tighten the skin and improve texture. First the BTL X-Wave is applied to the targeted areas where the powerful mechanical vibrations increase microcirculation and blood supply in the area. The elevated blood supply boosts oxygen to the targeted area that in turn renews healthy connective tissue synthesis and removes excess interstitial fluid.
The BTL Lymphastim further complements the X-Wave treatments by promoting healthy lymph drainage. Lymph drainage removes the build-up of fluid and toxins from the body that can contribute to the appearance of cellulite.
What result can I expect?
Over time the areas that were treated will become smoother, the skin tighter and show less signs of cellulite. A series of 4 to 6 treatments are recommended depending on the client’s treatment plan, however many clients do start seeing results after only one treatment.
It’s important to remember that the results are not permanent and over time the cellulite may return. For long lasting results we recommend maintenance treatments and that clients maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
